Kitagawa Europe has recently supplied several specialist work holding solutions to a leading automotive pump manufacture. The solutions include The PW06 chuck with special interchangeable jaws, backstops and location parts to cover a range of cast components.
The PW06 chuck was chosen because of its pullback action and jaw compensation giving accurate location and secure gripping on cast components with draught angles. The top tooling was designed to be swapped quickly and easily, minimising setup time between batches of different components.
Preassembly and grip tests were carried out at Kitagawa's headquarters in Wiltshire prior to shipment to guarantee a smooth onsite installation and allow the customer to commence machining as quickly as possible.
