Perfect solution for all types of machining centres

Lang’s modular technology system combines three technologies to enable you to deliver a fast, accurate and flexible working system.

The three Technologies

- Zero Point clamping system

- Stamping Technology

- Makro Grip Vices

To start with you can purchase one vice and one Zero-point plate alongside the stamping system initially. From then on the modular system can be built upon depending on your workholding demands to give you the ultimate flexibility.

ZERO-POINT CLAMPING SYSTEM

The LANG Zero-point clamping system is called Quick-point is the has the lowest height of any zero-point system therefore maximising your available machining area. Zero-point systems are for increasing productivity and reducing setup and change over times. Quick-point  connects work pieces, vices, plates, fixtures and devices precisely within seconds to the machine table. It allows for a versatile and flexible clamping solution for almost every machine table, drastically reducing the setup times and increases the machine capacity. Quick point is offered in wide range of variations. Round, rectangle or square in shape, for single or multiple clamping the two different stud sizes and spacing (52mm and 96mm). Uncomplicated joining and removing it is maximum user friendliness. Cleaning the machine table has been reduced.

QUICK-POINT Main Characteristics

Reduction of setup time

The clamping devices, fixtures and workpieces can be fixed within seconds.

Modularity

The variety of combinable zero-point plates can be expanded at any time.

Simplicity

Mechanical clamping via a simple tightening of a screw or quick release.

Holding force

The holding force upto 6,000kg and if the more clamping studs are used the holding force increases accordingly.

Flexibility

The modularity of the system allows for the expansion of existing features at any time and guarantees fast changeovers with the highest precision. Accessories such as quick lock and risers can upgrade the usability and functionality enormously.

STAMPING TECHNOLOGY

For stamping technology the raw workpiece is stamped outside the machine tool with up to 20 tons of pressure. The Unique form closure technology makes the clamping best in 5-axis machining and guarantees the maximum holding power with minimal clamping forces. The external pre-stamping of the workpiece favors the positive effect on process reliability and cost-effective production. It ensures problem- free preparation, even with the hard materials of up to 1.500N/mm2. Low clamping pressure in the compact 5-Axis vice results in high process reliability, better quality, reduction in purchasing price and better usage of capacity.

Benefits of form closure technology

- It requires the minimal clamping edge which results in enormous material savings which leads to resource protection.

- Reduction of price per piece due to shortened machining times.

- High accuracy resulting in increased milling quality.

Process of the Stamping Technology

  1. Sawing

The workpiece is stamped directly on the saw cut or cinder layer of the blank and no additional preparatory work is required.

  1. Stamping

Stamping is realized within 5 seconds. The workpiece is stamped up to 20 tons of pressure using external stamping system and it conducts on the rough layer of the workpiece.

  1. Clamping

The stamped workpiece is clamped in the jaws with the clamping depth of 3mm and it is ready for operation.

MAKRO GRIP 5-AXIS VICE

External pre-stamping enables the workpiece to be held reliably in the Makro Grip 5-axis vice with the low clamping pressure. The interaction between the clamping jaws and the vice body has been improved. Its compact design and the use of form-closure technology make the 5-Axis vice ideal for 5-sided machining

Benefits of 5-Axis vice

- Great handling characteristics due to light weight

- Integrated zero -point adaptation

- Highest holding power at low actuation forces through form-closure clamping

- Best accessibility and process reliability for 5-sided machining

Conventional Workholding

The strengths of Makro-Grip stamping technology with its 5-Axis vices are mainly seen in the processing of unmachined parts. Conventional work holding offer multiple options for smooth clamping of round or shaped components. The vice components use the same base body as the Makro-Grip 5-axis vice, are compatible and interchangeable. The conventional workholding is suitable for demanding machining of the 6th side and expand clamping possibilities in order to completely machine a workpiece. These are highly flexible and versatile which is suitable for any clamping task in milling. The setup time is reduced.

CUSTOMER REVIEW

I bought two components one is Quick point Zero-point clamping system, which has a very low   height pallet and vice. The second was the stamping system which is used to put crimps on the lower edge of the workpiece to give it high holding strength. It only takes three seconds to stamp the workpiece and another few seconds to load the workpiece into the machine. It’s absolutely the fastest I have ever seen.

The Makro Grip line of the products has benefited us by reducing the number of operations required to complete a part. The compact size of the vice gives us more room to access the part allowing faster feed rates with shorter and more rigid tooling. The Quick point bases we do not have to remove the component from the Makro grip vice, the vices become essentially pallets that can be moved from one machine or operation to another including a CMM for 100% in the process inspection.
